Dior Pure Poison fragrance for christmas gifting

Christmas is coming and one of the gifts I always love to receive is perfume. I couldn’t quite wait until Christmas this year though and I snapped up a bottle of Dior Pure Poison for myself from Selfridges a couple of weeks ago. Dior fragrances are up there with the best. Here are my top three picks of perfumes I’d like to unwrap this Christmas Day.

Dior Pure Poison

I remember wearing this when I was single and dating because it always got me compliments. Of course, I don’t need a man to say I smell nice; it’s reward enough enough to catch a whiff of the scent yourself. If you like subtle, floral scents then this probably isn’t for you. It’s sensual, exotic and heady – perfect for a night out and something that’s lasting and memorable. Notes include orange blossom, jasmine, amber and sandalwood for the ultimate in seduction. I just wish that I could still get hold of the limited edition hair mist that I had so many years ago. I had to re-buy it again and again on eBay to satisfy my addiction to it – I couldn’t get enough!

Miss Dior fragrance for christmas gifting

Miss Dior

Miss Dior is a sweet, sexy and playful fragrance with a more youthful appeal. I’d wear it as an evening scent, perfect for a night with the girls as it’s not quite as sensual as Pure Poison. You’ll notice the notes of orange essence, neroli and rose essence as well as Indonesian patchouli essence, combining for the feminine scent. I usually avoid sweet fragrances, but the quality of the ingredients in this concoction stop it feeling too overpoweringly sugary.

J'adore dior fragrance for christmas gifting

J’adore

Described by Dior as ‘A unique, rich and generous bouquet of flowers’, this scent has been around for years. It reminds me of working in Debenhams as a teenager and getting that waft of perfume every time I walked through the beauty hall. This scent features Comoro Islands yland-ylang essence, Damascus rose essence and jasmine sambac asolute. It’s fresh and sophisticated, making it a good option for every day, and a scent that works for all ages.
