It’s January and most people have probably already broken one of their goals but that’s okay because you can just start again. It doesn’t have to be January 1 to start your goals. One of the most common goals is seeking the best way to lose weight.

During the holidays especially, there are plenty of opportunities for overindulgence: lavish dinners, tantalizing treats, etc. Sometimes the lure can be difficult to resist – resulting in making a new year’s resolution to find the best way to lose weight.

By implementing a realistic plan that is the best way to lose weight, losing those holiday pounds – and even lifetime weight control – can be well within your reach.

So what is a realistic plan? It’s a plan that is within your reach, something you can see yourself doing on a day to day basis. You need to give careful consideration that you would give to any serious endeavor. Many of you I am sure have heard that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

When considering the best way to lose weight, you may prefer to start with an exercise program and then add in the dietary changes. Or you may want to do it the other way around. If you’re really motivated, you may want to start both the exercise and diet segments simultaneously. Yes, that’s right. Exercise. That does go hand in had with the best way to lose weight.

The first challenge we face in diet selection is committing to the discipline of thinking ahead instead of eating impulsively. So, start with something small and attainable.

Many health experts recommend fresh fruits and vegetables daily for a healthy life:
o 5 servings for children
o 7 servings for women
o 9 servings for men
o Add high quality protein to your diet
o Drink plenty of water

These are easy steps that you can accomplish today!

Exercise is the key to weight control. There is no way around it. However, exercise does not have to be a punishment; it can really be pleasurable. The key is to find something you enjoy. I recommend that you start with three forms of activity to prevent exercise boredom. Add more activities every month. Get in the habit of participating in at least 30 minutes of activity every day.

There are basically two types of exercise:

* Aerobic exercise is defined as any activity that increases your need for oxygen. Aerobics make you breathe harder.

* Progressive resistance training is defined as any exercise where the load to the muscle is increased by some mechanical means – weights, bands, springs and many other methods. The key is to progressively increase the weight or resistance over time. This results in more lean body mass and less fat mass.

You need both types of exercise every week.

I am sure at this point you are saying, yes I have heard this – diet and exercise but I am still not able to lose weight and that’s why I am searching for the best way to lose weight.

Well, I am very excited to share with you something else that can help you – the missing piece of the puzzle. I have walked in your shoes and I also was not able to lose weight and then it was this one extra component that I added to my routine that was the “tipping point” for me.

The company I work with has supplements that are backed by science and more importantly, it worked for me. They actually have a 3 step system depending on what you are trying to accomplish and you can pick and choose what’s best for you but combined with diet and exercise, it was the best way to lose weight for me and IT WORKED!

Supplements are important in a healthy weight loss strategy. In many people they represent the critical difference between success and failure. However, you must always remember that they are supplements; they supplement a diet and exercise program. Use them wisely as an important part of your total wellness program.

The supplements are called Leanology and it supports the four stages of weight loss:

Energy and metabolism: Leanology Weight Loss Capsules help increase metabolism and energy to support your body’s ability to burn more calories at rest. Leanology Nutritional Shakes provide low-calorie, high protein energy to support healthy metabolism.

Cortisol and stress management: Cortisol is the stress-induced hormone that can lead to abdominal fat. Leanology Weight Loss Capsules help to limit cortisol production in your body. The focus here is to stop cortisol before it starts. Protein, such as those in Leanology Nutritional Shakes, can break the cortisol cycle once it starts – especially if taken first thing in the morning. Many physicians specializing in weight loss recommend a high-protein breakfast at 7 a.m. to regulate the cortisol cycle.

Appetite control: Leanology Appetite Control Chews help reduce the natural hunger signals in your body to minimize cravings. Leanology Weight Loss Capsules contain glucomannan and other botanicals to send a “full” signal to your brain.

Blood sugar control: Leanology Weight Loss Capsules focus more than half of their ingredients on blood sugar control. Leanology Nutritional Shakes taken between meals keep your blood sugar rock-solid. Leanology Shakes also help your body use the nutrients you eat as energy, rather than storing them as fat.

Finding the best way to lose weight is possible and within your reach. Follow these simple steps diligently – that’s the real key! Also, take Leanology to “supplement” your weight loss program. And, don’t forget your supplements for foundational nutrition, because calorie restriction may often mean nutrient restriction. Weight loss is a metabolically intense journey and we need all the nutrients we can get to build healthy metabolism. Still, the goal is worthwhile and the progress is measurable day by day!

So if you’re interested in finding out more about what can help you for the best way to lose weight, go to: www.leanology.com/13158176

Wishing you the best of health on your wellness journey.

What is Wellavoh and How Can Nutrients Help Relieve Stress?
Well, let’s first define Stress. Stress is defined as change that is seen by your body or mind as a threat – large or small, imaginary or real – or a change in your environment that triggers a rapid use of your reserves. Stress creates a demand on your resources. Soon, these resources become exhausted and you get sick.

Distress can come from your environment, your body or your mind. Rather than being just a single event, stress accumulates over time from all three sources. It strangles the joy and pleasure from your days and nights. It makes you miserable, and then it makes you sick. Once you are sick, stress keeps you from responding as well to medical care. Yes, stress is a killer!

Nutrients to the rescue
The opposite of stress is homeostasis. So, while stress is constantly trying to pull you apart, homeostasis is constantly working to put you back together. Homeostasis is the priority process your body uses to combat stress.

Vitamins, minerals and other nutrients are essential for homeostasis. If we have the nutrients we need at the moment we need them, we will thrive! Conversely, if we do not have the proper nutrient base in our system every day we will suffer loss of energy, poor mental performance and an increased risk for disease. That’s why you want to know more about Wellavoh!

Supplements
The word supplement means an addition to something to make up for a deficiency. All supplements are an important addition to a healthy diet. They make up for the deficiency we face because of poor nutrient density in our foods. They also help out when we miss the mark of diet perfection.

Supplements are no substitute for good dietary choices. We simply must commit ourselves to eating a healthy diet. As you review your food choices for the past week, ask yourself, “Did I eat the right amount of fruits and vegetables every day?”

* 5 servings for children
* 7 servings for women
* 9 servings for men

If you can say “yes” – congratulations! If you are like most people you did not reach that goal. And, if you are like most of us, you did not eat all of your fruits and vegetables from an organic source; so, the fruits and vegetables may have been of low nutrient value.

We need a multiple nutrient supplement every day to serve as a foundation for health and to combat the nutrient demands of a stressful life.

A new supplement – Wellavoh!
Staying on top of our nutrient reserve is important. Our body makes millions of new cells every day – heart cells, brain cells, bone and blood cells. Stress kills millions of vulnerable cells every day. Every time a cell dies it should be replaced. If you do not have the right amount of nutrients to construct a new cell, you will either make an incomplete cell or none at all. The outcome is bad in either case; so, we really need to keep all nutrients on board at all times. This is why TriVita created Sonoran Bloom™ Wellavoh™ (wel-lah voh), a new multi-nutrient complex for men and women.

The destructive forces of stress come from inside and outside your body. The nutrient complexes of Wellavoh can help you build a bulwark against stress as it tries to pull you apart. Wellavoh supports homeostasis as the innate wisdom of your body tries to keep you functioning at your peak.

One more reason…Danger Will Robinson!!! Read this and see why you are not just effecting yourself but future generations!
Perhaps an even more important reason exists for maintaining a robust supply of nutrients in our system daily. According to a recent report, chemical switches on our DNA are activated by nutrients. If a single nutrient is missing at the critical moment it is needed, one of these chemical switches will fail. This results in a change in our DNA that promotes disease – for up to three generations of our children! So, it is vital that we and our children have our nutrients available every day to reduce the impact of stress while promoting vitality today, health tomorrow and a solid wellness foundation for generations to come!

Holistic skin care is an all-round approach to healthy skin obtained with proper nourishment and care. Read on to find out more…

Holistic Skin Care

Have you wondered how you could get a radiant glow on your skin? Holistic skincare is one approach to achieving beautiful, radiant skin. Holistic skincare is an approach which takes a total view of the health and nutrition of the skin. Here are the elements of holistic skin care:

Holistic Skin Care: Nourishing the Skin

Holistic skincare focuses on nourishing the skin by maintaining a healthy and nutritious diet. What you eat always reflects on your skin, hence the, “you are what you eat” holds true.

Holistic skincare focuses on consuming healthy foods which will provide adequate nutrition for the body and result in healthy, beautiful skin.

Maintaining a healthy diet means including all essential nutritional elements including: Vitamin A, Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, proteins, healthy fats and oils, and all essential minerals.

We are all aware of the ills of consuming junk foods, such as highly processed foods, fried or fatty foods, and low nutritional value foods, verses sticking to a healthy diet rich in nutrients. A diet rich in nutrients is good for skin health as well as our body’s health.

It’s also important to include an array of fresh vegetables and fruits, which are rich in antioxidants. Also, be sure to include whole grains and food rich in proteins.

Avoid those deep fried foods, or food containing excessive amounts of cheese, butter or fats, as these foods often trigger breakouts, due to the fact these foods cause inflammation in the body. This inflammation will then often be, reflected on the skin.

However it is important to have a minimum intake of healthy oils like olive, flax, walnut, etc. since a small quantity of good fats in the diet is essential for healthy, well-nourished skin.

Holistic Skin Care: Taking Care of Your Skin

In addition to the above, proper skin maintenance is imperative. Avoid the use of harsh chemical based beauty products. Use milder products or ones that have herbal and botanical ingredients.

The first step to proper skin care is to use products suited for your skin type. Analyze whether you have dry, oily or a combination skin, and look for products formulated for your skin’s specific needs.

Always keep your skin clean by using a gentle face cleanser or a face wash. Make it a point to use an effective exfoliating treatment a few times per week, to remove the dead skin layer, thus resulting in softer, younger looking skin.

All skin types benefit from using a toner after cleansing and exfoliation. Toners return the skin to its natural pH balance and helps to reduce and close the pores.

Rose water, (and alcohol-free toners with a high percentage of rose water) are ideal toners for all skin types. Rose water based toners are gentle, natural and will leave your skin fresh and supple. Other wonderful options are toners containing orange, chamomile, sandalwood or comfy hydrosols.

Holistic Skin Care: Keeping the Skin Hydrated

Keeping the skin well hydrated is a must for healthy skin. Holistic skin care stresses providing sufficient fluids to the body to keep it healthy. The key to achieving this is to include plenty of fruits and vegetables that are high in water content.

Juices may also be added into your diet. Prime juices are those coming from freshly juiced fruits and vegetables. However, the easiest solution is to drink adequate amounts of water throughout the day.

Drinking ample amounts of water facilitates overall body detoxification and prevents accumulation of harmful toxins in the body. When insufficient fluids are consumed, the skin will become flaccid, dry, flaky, show more obvious fine lines and wrinkles, and may even have a grayish hue.

Holistic Skin Care: Exercising for Healthy Skin

Exercising is a must for healthy looking skin! There is no way around it, and everyone should be partaking in some form of exercise most days of the week. Exercising is also good for overall functioning of all organs of the body, and hence, is an absolute must.

Everyone is well aware exercising improves cardiovascular health, but it also increases the intake and absorption of oxygen in the blood. This brings circulating blood to the skin, which helps to tone the skin.

In addition, exercising is one of the best ways to aid the body in releasing toxins and waste products through sweating. People who exercise have youthful, fresh looking skin, which in turn, reflects their good health.

Exercising helps to burn excess fat and calories, which is good for the heart and in turn, good for blood circulation. Exercise can include anything walking, running, cycling, swimming, weight training, aerobics, yoga, or any other physical fitness activity you will enjoy.

Holistic skincare really then, comes down to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Included in this advice is of course, don’t smoke. Smoking damages the skin and causes premature aging of the skin. It also causes the skin to dull and gray – not very attractive or vibrant looking! If you do smoke, try to quit.

Embracing healthy living will help to keep you looking younger, more fit, and … healthy. This is what holistic skincare is all about. Remembering to take care of the whole you.

You indulge in a diet of fast food, luscious desserts, alcoholic beverages, and sweet sodas, you gain weight. You eat more calories than you actually burn, you gain weight. Weight gain is a simple science. You decide to live a healthy lifestyle, to exercise regularly and to control your calorie intake. But you still gain weight. It can be maddening especially when you think you’re doing everything right, following a strict regimen that’s been proclaimed fool-proof by many. Basic science is telling you should be shedding the pounds, but your weighing scale is saying just the opposite.

Almost any magazine you open has an article or two about the “10 Simple Steps to a Leaner Body!” or the “Five Easy Ways to Trim your Waist!” Simple and easy sell. Weight gain is a simple science, for some. For others, it can be a lot more complicated. If you are watching your calories and being physically active but are still gaining weight, it can be the result of a combination of factors working together.

Here are some of the reasons why the arrow on your scale won’t stop going up.

Inadequate Sleep

A well-rested body performs at its best. A body that doesn’t get enough sleep, on the other hand, is put through physiological stress. The body responds in numerous ways to stress, one of which is biochemical; it stores fat more efficiently. Another is mental and emotional reaction combined, and as a form of coping mechanism, the person tends to eat.

Some people who have wake up in the middle of the night and have trouble getting back to sleep develop the habit of late-night snacking. This only adds more calories to their daily intake.

To be fully rested, the body needs a full eight hours of undisturbed sleep every night. You will know that your body is not getting enough rest when you feel fatigued, irritable, and inactive.

You can start giving your body enough and better sleep once you develop good sleeping rituals and get regular exercise. You can start off by adding 15-minute increments of sleep to your bedtime every night. You’ll start feeling better right away.

Stress

Stress is the bane of today’s society, wherein there is no such thing as overreaching. Sometimes, too much is expected of us that if you are not feeling stressed, then, you are probably not doing enough. Stress has become the ultimate motivator. But it spills over to other aspects of our lives, especially our moods and emotions.

However we choose to respond to the stress, in our body, it triggers survival mode. In this mode, the body stores fuel, slows down metabolism, and dumps out chemicals. This is likely to cause weight gain.

In addition, many people respond to stress by eating because food gives them comfort. Stress eaters make themselves feel better by indulging on high-carbohydrate foods. These foods actually trigger the release of the chemical serotonin in the brain which has a calming effect. This is a form of self-medication for stress eaters. But this is only a temporary fix to their stress problems. In order to handle and get rid of stress effectively, the real causes should be addressed immediately.

To start off, relaxation techniques and regular exercise are a great means of handling stress.

Medications

If you are doing everything right but are still gaining weight, consider your overall health condition. You may be on some medications that are affecting your weight gain. These medications include some prescription drugs that are used to treat depression, mood disorders, migraines, seizures, diabetes, and blood pressure. If you are on steroids, hormone replacement therapy, or oral contraceptives, these could also be the culprits. If there has been no change in your lifestyle and you have gained 5 pounds or more in a month, then you should check your medicine cabinet.

There are many different ways by which drugs may cause weight gain. They may increase your appetite, alter the way fat is stored, change insulin levels. With antidepressants, for example, you may develop a heartier appetite as a result of feeling better. Some drugs, too, may cause fluid retention which may be mistaken as weight gain on the scales, but can actually be corrected.

The most common types of medications that may cause weight gain include steroids, heartburn medications, high blood pressure medications, diabetes medications, anti-seizure medications, antipsychotics, and antidepressants.

However, your overall health condition is still more important than any weight gain from a particular medication. You should just be more mindful of having a healthy diet and getting regular exercise.

It is rare that your medication is the sole cause of your weight gain and, therefore, changing it may not solve the problem entirely. Before considering going off on your medication, you should always consult your doctor first about your other drug options. You should not compromise your health over a few pounds gained. There could be more serious consequences than gaining more width.

Health Conditions

There a few medical conditions whose side effects include weight gain. The most common is hypothyroidism which is a deficiency in thyroid hormone. This condition decreases metabolism, which in turn causes both appetite loss and weight gain.

The symptoms of hypothyroidism include fatigue, lethargy, headaches, swelling, hoarse voice, intolerance to cold, and sleeping too much. A combination of any of these symptoms should be addressed by a doctor immediately.

Another medical condition that may cause weight gain is the rarer Cushing’s Syndrome, which is caused by an excess of the hormone cortisol.

Menopause

Menopause occurs mostly in midlife but its occurrence covers a wide range of ages. Whatever the age of menopause, however, most women in midlife are often less active than when they were younger. In addition, with aging comes slower metabolism and hormonal changes which, in turn, results in hunger, depression, and poor sleep.

Menopausal women lose estrogen which results in a change in their body shape. Estrogen makes fat deposits go to the lower body. In its absence, the fat goes instead to the midsection. During menopause, weight in the hips and thighs are usually lost but the midsection gains more.

In order to avoid the extra fat around the belly, it is important to increase metabolism or the rate that calories are burned. This can be done by maintaining and increasing the amount of lean body mass. This is where weight lifting and strength training come in.

In addition to thwarting menopausal weight gain, exercise, together with a low-calorie and calcium- and Vitamin D-rich diet, also helps offset bone loss which is another effect of menopause.

Berry-apple sauce and nuts
is an easy Paleo snack.

Adapting to their changing environment was essential for early humankind. Our ancestors learned how to fish, hunt and gather the foods they needed.

In today’s world there are fewer cavemen (which some females might disagree with) but a renewed interest in eating well (”eating good” in caveman parlance).

Going back to basics is a central theme in many successful lifestyle changes, and the Paleo diet has that at its core. With its focus on meats, vegetables, fruits and nuts, going Paleo provides a solid core for good nutrition.

But just as our caveman ancestors were able to adapt to changes in weather and new food possibilities, we too have options and opportunities to mesh our evolving lifestyle with a positive food legacy.

As noted by Darya Pino, food editor for Summer Tomato, “The evolutionary argument that humans are somehow mal-adapted to agriculture-based diets is particularly unconvincing”.

I suggest the “Paleo-Plus” food lifestyle, consistent with the Paleo diet’s philosophy and core foods, but with its hunting ground expanded to include small portions of other local natural foods.

My own awareness of the need to go Paleo-Plus came the first time I made myself a coffee. I am very much a triple-milk person when it comes to coffee, and the thought of going to black coffee just tasted wrong.

It can be hard getting away from cheese in North America and Europe, and ignoring the wide variety of healthy, low-fat yogurts just seems wrong. Similarly, sprinkling a few bran flakes on fruit is a great way to get the texture of cereal in a very small serving.

The key, as always, is moderation and being able to sustain a positive and practical food lifestyle.

I think even a caveman would agree.

Here's a tasty example of Paleo-Plus from my local Williams Coffee Pub: meat, veggies, nuts, fruit and yes, a bit of feta cheese.

If you’re like most of us, you’ve probably had trouble
keeping the weight off lately… or from piling on as you’ve
gotten older…

Could be that your excess ‘baggage’ is all over, or maybe
just in certain areas like your belly – or maybe just your
hips or thighs…

And like anything else you’ve been struggling with, you
might suspect that there is something out there that could
help that you just don’t know about yet…

After all, you know that diets just don’t work-

-and all that treadmill exercise is way too boring and takes
too much time-

-and any weight you do lose ends up right back on your body
once you’re forced to stop the crazy dieting and exercise
routines!

Am I right? I thought so…

…then I know you’re going to be happy to hear more about
this UNIQUE NEWS story I just finished reading:

The facts are, a formerly overweight Michigan couple LOST
OVER 101 POUNDS of fat in just a few months by stumbling on
this 1 weird trick that burns fat for 3 FULL DAYS from just
15 minutes…

…yeah, that’s what I thought too, it DOES sound amazing!
You can even see their before and after pics on their website
right here:

http://ee65d5xmk7p23w2l28i8zghct7.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=TRUELIFE

But here are the other important facts from this unusual
story you’ll want to know about first:

1. They did it by enjoying delicious foods several times a
day, EVERY DAY, never hungry a minute…

2. They DID NOT do one minute of ‘cardio’ exercise, but
still lowered their resting heart rate and developed the
near-boundless energy of a spry teenager…

3. In addition to the weight loss, he lost nearly 10 INCHES
OF BELLY FAT, and she dropped 8 DRESS SIZES, going from a 12
to a 4…

4. They did this all while doing almost the EXACT OPPOSITE
of what most fitness experts have been teaching us for
years…

I don’t have time to repost the full story in this
newsletter, but you’re probably already wondering about all
the other details…don’t worry-

-you’re going to learn everything you need to know
(including the inspiring before and after pics) at Rob and
Kalen’s website, right here:

Rob even shows you the 5 BIG MISTAKES you’ve probably
been making trying to lose the weight, among all the tricky
little details of their fascinating, life-changing discovery.

Enjoy, and you’ll thank me later

Diet-to-Go is a diet food delivery service that provides whole-day meals that are freshly prepared, tasty, nutritious and conveniently packed for people who are always on-the-go. You might be surprised but Diet-to-Go has been serving its customers for the past 18 years.

Their goal is and has always been for dieters and health conscious individuals to love their meals so much that achieving their goal of losing or maintaining weight or simply improving overall health and well-being becomes even a lot more easier to achieve.

Diet-to-Go has five weeks worth of different diet plans that feature an excellent variety of food items. Moreover, for people who are concerned of their fat or sodium intake or are trying to keep their cholesterol levels in check, two of their plans, the traditional and vegetarian, are both low in fat, sodium and cholesterol.

Diet-to-Go also boasts of having their foods prepared by well-trained chefs and that they strictly adhere to the dietary guidelines issued by the:

American Heart Association

American Cancer Society

American Diabetes Association

American Dietetic Association

So, how does Diet-to-Go work? Diet-to-Go works closely with its customers. First, they will ask you what your goal is, e.g., are you trying to lose weight, do you want to eat healthier, are you just looking to save time preparing or cooking meals or do you have any other objective you wish to achieve. Then they will need to know if you have any dietary restrictions such as food allergies, taste preferences or if you are on a medically-supervised diet. Based on your responses and any other pertinent diet information you can provide, a Diet-to-Go meal counselor will “recommend” an appropriate and nutritious food plan for you.

I wrote down “recommend” because they do allow you to substitute your pre-planned meal if it does not appeal to your palette. This is for a fee, of course, but Diet-to-Go does give the assurance that they prepare your meal plans with the end-goal of ensuring that you don’t waste your money on food you can’t eat or don’t like. As I’ve mentioned, you can substitute from a list of available dishes. They even give you the option to “double-up” on your favorite foods if it is available during a particular pickup.

If despite the option to substitute or double-up you still feel unhappy with the meals you get, they won’t make you pay for it. The cost of the food or meals you are unhappy about would be credited towards your next purchase.

I’m sure the next thing you would want to know is if guarantee weight loss with their diet food plan. While they don’t offer a money-back guarantee, they do have an amazing track record of helping thousands of busy new mothers, executives, home-based individuals and many others shed unwanted pounds. Furthermore, customers themselves say they lose from 2 to 3 pounds per week while on a full Diet-to-Go meal plan.

If you are worrying about the cost, you don’t have to. The price of their meal plans are extremely flexible because it depends on the number of meals per day that you order, the calorie level you are required to be on (so if you are trying to lose weight, this won’t be a lot), whether or not you want to include snacks, etc. An average customer actually spends only about $90 per week for a full meal plan.

Moreover, Diet-to-go first discuss with the customer their objectives and other considerations before they put a price tag on a meal plan. Plus, they always make sure to mention to customers the specials or any other promotions they are currently offering prior to the purchase.

So what are you waiting for? Start on your very own Diet-to-go by ordering online through their website. That’s all it takes for you to start eating healthily and lose weight doing it.

Do not deprive yourself. It’s a proven strategy that has worked for thousands of others. It will work for you, too!

Well I survived my 6 day detox compliments of Nosh. They kindly allowed me to trial the service and I’ve been recording my thoughts over on The Style PA at Home. Here’s my verdict…

Convenience:

This service couldn’t really be more convenient, especially if you work in an office like me. Food is delivered each evening for the following day and each bag or bottle is labelled and identified in your menu for that day. At the beginning of the week you get a daily time line of what you should be consuming when and there is never long between meals or snacks so it’s quite easy to wait until the next bit of food. I was impressed with the freshness and quality of all the food, even though not all of it was exactly to my taste. I think it’s a good idea to be clear about your likes and dislikes to get the most from the detox. Most of the meals can just be popped in the microwave, it’s all been prepared for you.

Willpower:

Willpower is definitely required. Don’t kid yourself into thinking that this is the quick and easy fix, it will require some determination. However, once you get over the first 3 days, it’s plain sailing from there on in and actually I quite enjoyed it. You’ll get much more than your 5 a day and feel better as a result. If you start the detox with a bad headache rest assured that’s just your dependency on nasties found in your regular diet. My vice was caffeine but I’m so glad the detox forced me to cut down. There are a few extras you get with the food designed to help your body detox like teas, scrubs and supplements. The supplements take some getting used to… I suggest just hiding them in juice or soup.

Weight Loss:

You all want to know… how much weight did I lose? The answer is 4lb. Not bad for 6 days or willpower and yes, people can lose 4lb without resorting to a detox, but this was about more than losing a few lbs. It was more about giving myself a boost and stopping the cravings of all those foods that I eat without thinking and really shouldn’t.

Other benefits:

The main benefit is that I need less now to feel satisfied. I’ve switched from diet coke to caffeine-free diet coke. Still not totally virtuous, but a step in the right direction. I’ve also not eaten a chocolate bar or sweets for 8 days. That for me is an achievement. I find myself turning to food to treat myself all the time, and I’m rarely actually hungry. Treating the body like a dustbin is not a good idea, and although I won’t be giving up treats entirely, I’ll be a lot more conscious about what I’m eating and whether I really need it.

Broccoli soup

Post detox Diet:

I’m sticking to cereal for breakfast, soup for lunch and then a dinner of protein, carbs and plenty of veg. I’m drinking about 2.5 litres of water a day and trying to only have one glass of caffeine-free diet coke. Let’s hope this helps me build on the loss from the detox and shift a few more pounds.
