The end of the month is looming which means pay day and a few extra pennies to treat yourself to something special. Whether you’ve got a lot to spend or just a little bit going spare, here’s what has been catching my eye this week…

It may not be winter but with the temperature sitting around 10 degrees in London at the weekend a jumper could be a good investment. Grey is my new ‘black’ so this Markus Lupfer merino wool slogan top ticks off that trend too. Get it for £225 at Matches Fashion.

These Patsy Tassel wedges from Topshop are statement summer shoes at their finest. I love how chunky they are with little borrowed details from this season’s ‘it’ shoe, the clog. They’ll be yours for £130.

Maxi dresses are top of the fashionista’s shopping list this summer and I love the colour and floaty fabric of this halter maxi dress from ASOS. Own it for a reasonable £45.

Last on the list is my chosen pay day purchase, this Rock & Roll Knuckleduster ring from SUPERSWEET. I saw it back at a recent press day and when I saw it on sale I just had to make it mine. It’s a little bit ‘gangsta’ but I love it! Take it home for £30.

What’s on your pay day shopping list this month?

If you’re like most of us, you’ve probably had trouble
keeping the weight off lately… or from piling on as you’ve
gotten older…

Could be that your excess ‘baggage’ is all over, or maybe
just in certain areas like your belly – or maybe just your
hips or thighs…

And like anything else you’ve been struggling with, you
might suspect that there is something out there that could
help that you just don’t know about yet…

After all, you know that diets just don’t work-

-and all that treadmill exercise is way too boring and takes
too much time-

-and any weight you do lose ends up right back on your body
once you’re forced to stop the crazy dieting and exercise
routines!

Am I right? I thought so…

…then I know you’re going to be happy to hear more about
this UNIQUE NEWS story I just finished reading:

The facts are, a formerly overweight Michigan couple LOST
OVER 101 POUNDS of fat in just a few months by stumbling on
this 1 weird trick that burns fat for 3 FULL DAYS from just
15 minutes…

…yeah, that’s what I thought too, it DOES sound amazing!
You can even see their before and after pics on their website
right here:

http://ee65d5xmk7p23w2l28i8zghct7.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=TRUELIFE

But here are the other important facts from this unusual
story you’ll want to know about first:

1. They did it by enjoying delicious foods several times a
day, EVERY DAY, never hungry a minute…

2. They DID NOT do one minute of ‘cardio’ exercise, but
still lowered their resting heart rate and developed the
near-boundless energy of a spry teenager…

3. In addition to the weight loss, he lost nearly 10 INCHES
OF BELLY FAT, and she dropped 8 DRESS SIZES, going from a 12
to a 4…

4. They did this all while doing almost the EXACT OPPOSITE
of what most fitness experts have been teaching us for
years…

I don’t have time to repost the full story in this
newsletter, but you’re probably already wondering about all
the other details…don’t worry-

-you’re going to learn everything you need to know
(including the inspiring before and after pics) at Rob and
Kalen’s website, right here:

http://ee65d5xmk7p23w2l28i8zghct7.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=TRUELIFE

Rob even shows you the 5 BIG MISTAKES you’ve probably
been making trying to lose the weight, among all the tricky
little details of their fascinating, life-changing discovery.

Enjoy, and you’ll thank me later

To your health and fitness,

Hi folks!

I just wanted to let you know that this will be my last post until after Christmas.

From tomorrow on I will be working straight through without a day off, therefore I won’t be online as much.

Today I will be doing my laundry, going grocery shopping, and then ironing my clothes for tomorrow. Doesn’t that sound like tremendous fun?

Amazingly enough, so far retail stress hasn’t been too bad. I mean I’ve only fantasized about throwing two customers in front of a moving bus, so I’m feeling rather award-winning at the moment.

However, I know that by next Tuesday I’ll mostly likely be incarcerated for trying to insert my right foot into someone’s sphincter.

Pray for me.

Anyway….

….I want to wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas!

And to thank you for being such an awesome bunch of people who I thoroughly enjoy sharing my life with.

You ALL make this blog what it is….

….a community of joy!

This may sound odd, but I often feel like I know and understand you better than I do people offline.

I definitely know that I think and talk about you while I’m away from this computer and refer to you as friends.

This blog has given my life an additional sense of purpose. To create a space where people can come and feel welcomed, relaxed, and at home; knowing that their presence in this world is always appreciated.

And you are, my friends.

Who knew when I was a little boy; dreaming of owning a Barbie doll, that one day in the distant future there would be a doll invented just for me?

Billy.

Billy was created by artist John McKitterick and marketed in the United States by London-based Totem International as “the first out and proud gay doll” although that distinction actually belongs to Gay Bob, introduced in 1977. McKitterick created the doll based on sketches he drew while living in London. After a successful limited-edition run of 1,200 dolls created to benefit an AIDS charity, McKitterick decided to mass market his creation….

It was introduced in a number of versions based on stereotypical gay characters, including Sailor Billy, Cowboy Billy, Master Billy and San Francisco Billy.

Other dolls in the Billy line include Carlos, Billy’s Puerto Rican boyfriend, and Tyson, their African American friend.

Billy and Carlos donned drag in 1999, with Billy dressed in a gingham checkered pantsuit as “Dolly” and Carlos as “Carmen” in a polka dot outfit reminiscent of those worn by Carmen Miranda.

Hi Folks!

With this being the last day of November, I just wanted to let everyone know that posting throughout most of December will be very light.

This month gets extremely busy for me with my work hours doubling as we get closer and closer to Christmas.

So, starting next Monday I will only be posting once a week. I’m not sure what day that will be – I’ll just play it by ear.

However, this week I will be posting again on Friday.

Even though I won’t be posting a lot, I will be visiting your blogs throughout the next three weeks to catch up with all of you.

Thank you for your understanding everyone – I really appreciate it.

Please note: This will be me (the cat) responding with my answer to an impatient customer who snaps their finger at me because they waited until the day before Christmas to purchase ALL their gifts…..

Well folks, it’s finally here.

The scariest day of my life….BLACK FRIDAY.

I think it’s strange that for someone who has been in the retail industry for umpteen years, I’ve never known where the term Black Friday came from.

Thank heavens for wikipedia, because I discovered it’s origin right here in Philadelphia.

“The term Black Friday originated in Philadelphia in reference to the heavy traffic on that day. More recently, merchants and the media have used it instead to refer to the beginning of the period in which retailers go from being in the red (i.e., posting a loss on the books) to being in the black (i.e., turning a profit).”

Hey, what do you know….I always just assumed the term Black Friday originated from the opinion of sales associates, as a term of endearment for what it felt like to experience the horror of being eaten by Hannibal Lecter.

Let me be honest and say that if I weren’t in the retail industry you would never catch me shopping today, other than maybe stopping in CVS for emergency items, such as a pack of cigarettes or toilet paper.

What totally amazes me are the people who wake up at the ass-crack of dawn to stand in a long line, so they can get a complimentary cup of coffee and a Krispy Kreme donut for being the first 20,000 customers to enter the store on Friday morning….

I. DON’T. THINK. SO.

I wouldn’t wake up at the ass-crack of dawn on Black Friday, even if Barbra Streisand was making a guest appearance at Target; autographing each donut with a Sharpie.

“And I love ya, Barbra….you know I do.”

Can I just tell you how much I look forward to walking into work today; having to coat my body with a heavy lubricant, so I can squeeze myself through the crowds of CRAZED shoppers?

And can I just tell you how much I look forward to having every customer ask me if what I’m selling comes with a FREE GIFT?

Or the customers who mistaken my store for a FLEA MARKET; asking if I can reduce the price if they purchase two items.

But most of all, can I tell you how much I look forward to having every customer who immediately walks in the door, ask me….

“Where are the restrooms?”

And do you know what I feel like telling them?

“They’re closed for repairs. So, you can I either pee in your pants or GO HOME!”

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, I would like to use this post to reiterate the things I have to be grateful for.

Last year, on this same day, I shared a post about something that happened to me when I first moved back east and how it taught me to notice the abundance in my life, which I had previously overlooked.

You can read about that here.

Every once in a while I will go back into my archives and reread that post whenever I forget and need to be reminded. I sometimes get distracted, by allowing my mind to tell me what I need in order to be filled, instead of focusing on and appreciating the abundance that is full.

Health

Family and friends

A job

A roof over my head

Food on the table

Clothes on my back

And knowing that I am loved.

I know this list may seem very basic, but in today’s world with the economy the way it is, and people loosing their jobs and homes everyday, I realize that some are struggling with even the basics.

This is a time when I especially need to notice that my glass is FULL.

And be forever grateful….

What is Wellavoh and How Can Nutrients Help Relieve Stress?
Well, let’s first define Stress. Stress is defined as change that is seen by your body or mind as a threat – large or small, imaginary or real – or a change in your environment that triggers a rapid use of your reserves. Stress creates a demand on your resources. Soon, these resources become exhausted and you get sick.

Distress can come from your environment, your body or your mind. Rather than being just a single event, stress accumulates over time from all three sources. It strangles the joy and pleasure from your days and nights. It makes you miserable, and then it makes you sick. Once you are sick, stress keeps you from responding as well to medical care. Yes, stress is a killer!

Nutrients to the rescue
The opposite of stress is homeostasis. So, while stress is constantly trying to pull you apart, homeostasis is constantly working to put you back together. Homeostasis is the priority process your body uses to combat stress.

Vitamins, minerals and other nutrients are essential for homeostasis. If we have the nutrients we need at the moment we need them, we will thrive! Conversely, if we do not have the proper nutrient base in our system every day we will suffer loss of energy, poor mental performance and an increased risk for disease. That’s why you want to know more about Wellavoh!

Supplements
The word supplement means an addition to something to make up for a deficiency. All supplements are an important addition to a healthy diet. They make up for the deficiency we face because of poor nutrient density in our foods. They also help out when we miss the mark of diet perfection.

Supplements are no substitute for good dietary choices. We simply must commit ourselves to eating a healthy diet. As you review your food choices for the past week, ask yourself, “Did I eat the right amount of fruits and vegetables every day?”

* 5 servings for children
* 7 servings for women
* 9 servings for men

If you can say “yes” – congratulations! If you are like most people you did not reach that goal. And, if you are like most of us, you did not eat all of your fruits and vegetables from an organic source; so, the fruits and vegetables may have been of low nutrient value.

We need a multiple nutrient supplement every day to serve as a foundation for health and to combat the nutrient demands of a stressful life.

A new supplement – Wellavoh!
Staying on top of our nutrient reserve is important. Our body makes millions of new cells every day – heart cells, brain cells, bone and blood cells. Stress kills millions of vulnerable cells every day. Every time a cell dies it should be replaced. If you do not have the right amount of nutrients to construct a new cell, you will either make an incomplete cell or none at all. The outcome is bad in either case; so, we really need to keep all nutrients on board at all times. This is why TriVita created Sonoran Bloom™ Wellavoh™ (wel-lah voh), a new multi-nutrient complex for men and women.

The destructive forces of stress come from inside and outside your body. The nutrient complexes of Wellavoh can help you build a bulwark against stress as it tries to pull you apart. Wellavoh supports homeostasis as the innate wisdom of your body tries to keep you functioning at your peak.

One more reason…Danger Will Robinson!!! Read this and see why you are not just effecting yourself but future generations!
Perhaps an even more important reason exists for maintaining a robust supply of nutrients in our system daily. According to a recent report, chemical switches on our DNA are activated by nutrients. If a single nutrient is missing at the critical moment it is needed, one of these chemical switches will fail. This results in a change in our DNA that promotes disease – for up to three generations of our children! So, it is vital that we and our children have our nutrients available every day to reduce the impact of stress while promoting vitality today, health tomorrow and a solid wellness foundation for generations to come!
