Shoes and art… I think shoes are art personally, but for those who need a bit more convincing a new Sergio Rossi collaboration might do the trick.
Sergio Rossi is reinventing the Chelsea Boot with help from Chinese artist Peng Wei. Inspired by traditional Chinese art, Peng Wei will create eight versions in hand painted rice paper which is a fab idea. The artist’s works will be on display at the Sergio Rossi boutique in Rue de Faubourg Saint Honoré from 18- 21 October during, from 6.30-8.30pm.

Peng studied Oriental Culture and Art Department at Nankai University followed by MA Degree of Aesthetics at Nankai University. Her works have been collected by National Art Museum of China, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Asian Art Center of San Francisco, Sigg collection, Guangdo Art Museum, He Xiangning Art Museum, Beijing Fine Art Academy Museum and many others.
As for Sergio Rossi shoes generally, I’ve been having a browse over on Sarenza in the website’s Boutique section. The brand is very much like LK Bennett when it comes to styling and design. Their shoes are modern classics for those who like to be chic and elegantly dressed. See some current Sarenza styles below…

Luzzi – £244 (my favourite)
How would you reinvent the Chelsea Boot – would it be about print and pattern or interesting details? Not artistic? Which artist would you choose to design your shoes?
